Gateways
Avaya offers a full range of media gateways designed to enhance the benefits of
IP telephony for businesses of every size. They support multiple protocols, and
offer a high degree of reliability, security, and performance at every price point.
G250 Media Gateway
This branch-office gateway allows businesses to economically extend headquarters
communications applications to small branch offices with two to fourteen extensions.
It combines an IP telephony gateway, an advanced IP WAN router, a VPN gateway and
a high-performance LAN switch in a compact (2U) rack-mount unit. With an advanced
TDM/IP architecture, the G250 provides seamless connectivity and communications
among analog, digital, H.323, and SIP-based IP telephony devices and applications
G350 Media Gateway
The G350 packs an IP telephony gateway, an advanced IP WAN router, a VPN gateway
and a high-performance LAN switch into a compact (3U) modular chassis. Designed
to be a complete voice/data networking solution, it is ideally suited for enterprises
with distributed branch office locations of between eight and 72 extensions. An
advanced TDM/IP architecture provides seamless connectivity and communications among
analog, digital, H.323, and SIP-based telephony devices and applications.
G430 Media Gateway
The Avaya G430 Media Gateway provides a cost effective , scalable, and secure platform
for delivery of Avaya Aura™ Communication Manager-based IP telephony
applications. It is targeted for small to mid sized branch offices or medium sized
standalone businesses. Like other Avaya GX50 series Media Gateways, it can be configured
to extend Communication Manager features and applications to branch offices at the
edge of the enterprise network.
G450 Media Gateway G450
Developed for mid- to large branch offices and medium sized standalone businesses,
this gateway can be configured with an S8300 Server blade or S8500 Server to serve
standalone or small campus environments. It consists of a 3U high rack-mountable
chassis with a field-removable Supervisor Main Board Module, Power Supplies, Fan
Tray, DSP resources and memory, along with eight Media Module slots to support T1/E1,
ISDN-BRI, WAN interfaces, digital or analog telephones, and analog trunks.
G650 Media Gateway
Designed as the complementary gateway for S8500/S8700/10/20-based media servers,
the G650 offers the features, scalability, and system uptime that enterprises require
for mission-critical telephony. Its 8U high, fourteen-slot rack-mountable chassis
can accommodate a range of analog, digital, ISDN, and IP (over the LAN) phone station
configurations, with voice transport options over IP, analog, TDM, or ATM. Available
dual redundant, load-sharing power supplies provide enhanced reliability.
G860 Media Gateway
Optimized for campuses and large contact centers, the G860 is a high-density trunking
gateway that supports up to twelve DS3 interfaces in a single 5U chassis. It provides
a money-saving solution for organizations that need to consolidate multiple DS1
interfaces, helping to reduce hardware costs, power bills and carrier charges. The
GS860 uses SIP-based call control, and offers carrier-grade, NEBS III-compliant
reliability, with redundant system elements and hot-swappable modules.
IG550 Integrated Gateway
Designed for branches of up to 100 users, the IG550 consists of Avaya telephony
software and hardware, embedded in Jupiter Networks' J-Series branch-office routers—providing
a one-box telephony gateway, routing and security solution. It delivers reliable
converged networking in an easily managed package. As a consolidated solution, it
helps reduce hardware, deployment and management costs, resulting in a competitive
total cost of ownership.
Servers
The Avaya line of media and communications servers delivers the full power of our
Aura™ software to large and mid-sized businesses. Designed for reliability in the
most demanding customer environments, they feature powerful industry-standard processors
running the Linux operating system. Their scalable architecture gives businesses
flexibility to deliver the communications capabilities they need now—with room to
grow in the future.
S8300 Server
The S8300 Server with a G700, G450,G350 or G250 Media Gateway provides a flexible
solution for growing companies to streamline voice and data operations over one
networked infrastructure. It can be a standalone solution for a small business or
a remote edge device for a larger enterprise network with 8 to 450 stations.
S8400 Server
The S8400 Server is a Linux-based server that provides Communication Manager processing
functionality in stand alone, single port network, and telephony systems requiring
up to 900 stations. The S8400 Media Server provides midsize enterprises with a cost-effective
solution to support up to five media gateways and multiple locations. It also supports
software for voice messaging, fax messaging, auto attendant and other applications
S8500 Server
Designed to support distributed IP for mid-sized and large businesses, this server
offers powerful reliability features: It can be configured as a Local Survivable
Processor (LSP), allowing it to act as a higher capacity LSP for larger remote sites
of a distributed enterprise. It provides enterprise survivability, similar to ESS,
allowing it to serve as a "regional" survivable server for multiple H.248 gateways.
It Includes a RAM Disk, so it can operate even in the event of a disk failure. The
S8510 Server running Communication Manager allows for a distributed enterprise over
an IP infrastructure, ideal for the midsize or large business (up to 3,200 ports).
S8700 Server
The S8700 Server line offers three different models, all of which offer duplicated
processors for greater reliability. The processors can be separated up to ten kilometers
(6.3 miles) to help ensure business continuity. The S8710 Media Server is based
around an Intel processor, while the S8720 Server and the S8730 Server use the AMD
Opteron and AMD Opteron Quad Core processors, respectively.
S8800 Server
The S8800 series common server is a processing platform that is ready to support
Avaya Aura™ communications solutions for midsized and large enterprises, today and
in the future. The Avaya S8800 Server leverages Intel's latest Xeon E5500 series
(Nehalem) processor technology, and is available in both 1U and 2U form factors.
Most Avaya applications will use the S8800 1U server chassis; some applications
that require a large number of hard disk drives and/or plug-in cards will use the
2U version of Avaya S8800 Server.
